The 2023 Acura MDX is one of the most popular vehicles at our Acura dealership, but it's only natural that our customers would compare it to the other new SUV on our lot, the 2023 Acura RDX. While both do share some visual design elements, we want our customers to be confident in knowing they've chosen the perfect fit.
Engine Choices
First up is their difference in power. Regarding their engines, the Acura MDX comes with a 3.5L V6 Engine with 290 horsepower. The Acura MDX Type S package instead comes with a 355 horsepower 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine shared with some of our other new Acura vehicles.
All five trims for the Acura RDX come with the same 2.0L VTEC® Turbo engine. Along with a 10-speed transmission, it provides up to 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
Interior Cabin Tech
Both vehicles are supported by innovative technology. Some of the tech features they share include:

The Acura MDX does have a slight edge in this regard with a wider 12.3-inch HD Center Display. Another improvement is the available 25-speaker ELS Studio 3D® Signature Edition sound system.
Seating and Cargo Space
Whether you're carrying cargo or passengers, the Acura MDX has you covered. Its three-row seating can accommodate up to seven passengers, with a removable second-row center seat to make it easier for passengers to reach the back. Folding down the back two rows offers a maximum cargo capacity of 95 cubic feet.
If you do not need a mid-size SUV but still want something bigger than the sedans at Acura of Sherman Oaks, the Acura RDX might be what you're looking for. It features seating for five passengers, and with 60/40-split rear seats, it can have a maximum cargo space of 79.8 cubic feet.
