Acura Integra 40 Racer in red

Since debuting in the U.S. in 1986, Acura has spent the last four decades redefining automotive luxury. Acura of Sherman Oaks is proud to celebrate this automaker’s historic 40th anniversary. As the first Japanese luxury automaker in America, Acura originally launched with the classic Acura Legend and Acura Integra to blend high-end refinement with long-lasting reliability. To this day, we continue that legacy by offering a diverse and performance-focused lineup to Sherman Oaks, CA drivers.

A Legacy of Racing Excellence

To commemorate this milestone, Acura unveiled the Acura Integra 40 Racer, a stunning tribute to the automaker’s first championship-winning race car. This one-of-a-kind build honors the Comptech Integra No. 48, which dominated the IMSA International Sedan Series during the late 1980s. It was engineered by Honda Racing Corporation US, and it features a rebuilt original engine and a custom roll cage for authentic track performance. The car recently made its debut at the 51st Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, proving that racing remains a core facet of the brand’s identity.

Looking Toward the Future

Though this anniversary is a great time to celebrate Acura’s past achievements, the automaker never stops looking toward the future. Groundbreaking new models include the NSX with its aluminum monocoque body and the family-friendly Acura MDX. The automaker is now accelerating toward an electrified future with a new two-motor hybrid-electric powertrain planned for the upcoming fourth-generation Acura RDX. About 85 percent of Acura models sold in the United States in 2025 were produced in America using domestic and globally sourced parts.
