The Acura Integra has been a popular compact sports car for decades. When Acura first launched in the United States in 1986, the Acura Integra was one of the integral launch models, and since then, it has only grown in popularity. While the model took a hiatus from 2006 to 2023 — and was renamed the Acura RSX from 2001 to 2006 — it is back and more powerful, tech-filled, and stylish than ever in its 2025 Acura Integra iteration. Here is a comparison between the last-generation 2001 Acura Integra and the 2025 model.

2001 Acura Integra

The 2001 version of the Acura Integra represents the last version of the third generation of Acura Integra models before the coupe was renamed to the Acura RSX. This sporty coupe came standard with a four-cylinder VTEC® 1.8-liter engine that was good for 170 horsepower and 128 horsepower. This engine was matched to a five-speed manual transmission and had front wheel drive.

Like most cars of this era, it came with tech features like a CD player, hands-free phone, and MP3 player connectivity. It was ahead of its time in that it provided drivers with a navigation system and a DVD entertainment system.

2025 Acura Integra

24 years later, the Acura Integra is still a leader in the premium sport compact segment. Instead of a single powertrain, this new model now boasts two available powertrains. The base powertrain is a 1.5-liter VTEC® Turbo engine that cranks out 200 horsepower. Buyers can also upgrade to a more powerful 2.0-liter VTEC® powertrain good for 320 horsepower.

The new model also includes a huge variety of tech and safety features that weren’t available on any 2001 model, such as:

  • Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™
  • ELS STUDIO 3D®
  • AcuraWatch™ suite of driver-assist features
