An early switch to slick tires on the drying track and a perfectly calculated fuel-saving run allowed Blomqvist to assume the lead on the final lap as competitors were forced to stop in the pit for a last-minute fuel top-off.

The overall strength of the performance-oriented Acura ARX-06 was obvious all weekend. The automaker’s sister car, number 93, driven by Renger van der Zande, Kaku Ohta, and Nick Yelloly, secured third place and ran competitively in the top three for the majority of the six-hour race.
